💪 PsyQ – New Publication about #Treating #Women with #ADHD

💥 We wholly agree with ADDitude Magazine that the fate of women with ADHD is improving too slowly…

🎯 Therefore, PsyQ published a #CaseSeries in Frontiers in Psychiatry of something that might help!

🧠 Adjustment of psychostimulant medication dosage according to the menstrual cycle!

💬 Hormonal fluctuations influence ADHD- and mood symptoms.
In the premenstrual phase women with ADHD report less effect of their ADHD medication and/or worsening of symptoms. In order to cater to this need, we increased the dosage of ADHD medication in this phase. We report 9 cases that, despite differences in age, symptoms and type of psychostimulant, all scored improved ADHD- and mood symptoms and wanted to continue using the higher dose in the premenstrual phase!! This topic definitely warrants more research!
